The Donia Festival celebrates its 24th year

This year, Donia, the largest music festival in the Indian Ocean, will take place from 31 May to 04 June in Nosy-Be.

In 24 years, the Donia Festival has become a national pride, a regional reference and an international curiosity. During these 5 days, the Perfume Island is going to be a gigantic stage to introduce and highlight the culture of the region. This colorful festival has become a must in its category, and has become the musical and cultural crossroads of the Vanilla Islands. The festival will include various activities, including cultural events, sports activities, meetings and many more. In the evening, there are concerts, which can bring together no less than 10,000 spectators. Music is for many a means of escape, it is also a dialogue medium and an instrument of peace. Donia means in Sakalava language « a beautiful life ». Every edition of this great festival generates significant job and tourist income for Nosy-Be, this unparallelled land of dreams and adventures. The Donia Festival is a tool to promote tourism in Madagascar, just like the other festivals that will be held this year if we only mention the Carnival of Madagascar in Antananarivo or the Whale Festival in Sainte-Marie.
